Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Per chevron Azure and Gules, a fasces in pale supported by two lions, the dexter rampant guardant, the sinister rampant all Or.

Symbolism
The fasces with the two lions and the blue of the background show descent from the 108th Infantry Regiment.  The colors, red and yellow, are for Artillery.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 127th Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion on 1 June 1951.  It was redesignated for the 106th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion on 18 February 1954.  The insignia was redesignated for the 270th Armored Field Artillery Battalion on 22 April 1955.  It was redesignated for the 270th Artillery Regiment on 30 March 1962.  It was rescinded on 14 February 1975.
